Located in the Spanish lifestyle resort PGA Catalunya Golf and Wellness, Hotel Camiral launches its new Camiral Suites designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio. With wellness at the core of Hotel Camiral, Bryan O’Sullivan Studio has created seven timeless and elegant suites reflecting the hotel’s grounding holistic ethos.
The double sized Camiral Suites are directly connected to the Wellness Centre which promotes health and wellbeing with the support of the latest state-of-the-art technology. Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, the design team behind the Berkeley Bar and Terrace in London and The Maybourne Riviera in Monaco, carefully considered the flow of the room and how it connects both with the Wellness Centre, the extensive grounds and the overall healthy ethos of the resort. The interior design studio equipped the suites with furniture and lighting sourced or manufactured in Europe to reduce carbon emissions, while selecting locally sourced materials including stones and woods for both their inherent design qualities and their sustainable credentials.
Each suite is designed to support guests’ wellbeing by providing ample living spaces inside and out, including a sitting room, walk-in dressing room, bathroom and bedroom with a double balcony that incorporates sitting and dining furniture as well as biophilic planting. At 72m square in size, the suites offer the luxury of space and light in an apartment-style layout, with a wall of full-length windows looking out over the pool and more than 1,300 acres of Mediterranean forest, connecting with nature.
Ideal for participants of the resort’s many wellbeing programmes and packages, the suites provide plenty of space to undertake individual exercise like yoga or pilates and for relaxing meals. Camiral Suites also come equipped with personal fitness accessories as standard, including yoga mats and gym balls. Minibars are filled with nutritious Flax & Kale smoothies and health-boosting snacks and an integrated filtered water tap that helps reduce plastic waste.
Bespoke furniture by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio is complemented by Catalan craftsmanship and Spanish design, from the window treatments by Ismael Castor, imaginative tiling in the bathroom by award-winning Huguet Mallorca, contemporary balcony furniture by EYD 360 and original art commissioned from Spanish artists Josep Riera i Aragó, Mela Ferrer, Albert RÃ fols-Casamada as well as reproductions of Salvador DalÃ’s artwork.
Architectural elements of marble and onyx and timber evoke a sense of calm. Meanwhile, the use of a natural palette featuring touches of pink and blue gently connects the suites to the surrounding natural landscape. In keeping with the philosophy of the Bryan O’Sullivan Studio to create places where people feel at ease, the Camiral Suites offer a welcoming and timeless space in which to relax.
Bryan O’ Sullivan explains the design vision:
“The concept was to bring the calm feeling of the Wellness Centre into these suites. Our solution was to use a soft palette of colours to offer a serene atmosphere, using the warmth of natural oak to bring in an earthy feel, and adopt soft lighting with lamps and ceiling troughs to give a warm, diffused glow. The furniture and decorative lighting are designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, a mix between playful and paired back – lots of smooth, tactile shapes. We have also introduced a terrazzo tile from Huguet Mallorca with cool grey and blue tones for a neutral, summery feel which is complimented by marble wall tiles in the bathrooms.”
