Russ Brown is the new General Manager of Marine North Berwick, part of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts – a collection of bespoke hotels in the world’s most distinguished golf destinations, offering global travelers once-in-a-lifetime experiences along the scenic Scottish and Irish coast. The Marine & Lawn properties take inspiration from each destination’s coastal positioning, rich golf history and legendary storytelling.
Brown, who comes from St Peter Port, Guernsey has over 15 years of experience in the industry. His career began at the international hotel group Radisson Blu Edwardian, as Food & Beverage Manager. Showing an aptitude for hospitality, Brown worked his way up, becoming Group Director of Food and Beverage. During his time at the company, he oversaw the launch of six new independent restaurant brands across 13 hotels.
In 2021 Brown returned to the Channel Islands to work for luxury country house hotel group, Hand Picked Hotels, where he took the roles of Deputy General Manager and interim General Manager of the five-star Grand Hotel Jersey, and subsequently General Manager of the four-star Fermain Valley Hotel Guernsey.
Brown brings his 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and his invaluable knowledge of the wider hotel industry across the UK and Channel Islands to Marine North Berwick as General Manager. With a qualification in leadership from Oxford University, Brown is also passionate about building high-functioning and engaged teams that help businesses to thrive. Results driven and innovative, he is enthusiastic about his role at the award-winning hotel.
