The Montpellier Chapter – a Grade II Listed Victorian building that has undergone a vibrant transformation into a design-led, sophisticated, calm and contemporary hotel based in the heart of Cheltenham – proudly bears new bespoke upholstered seating throughout its immaculate restaurant, meeting rooms, and garden room, from Lyndon Design – one of the leading British manufacturers of handcrafted upholstered furniture.
Specified by Make Architects, Lyndon Design’s bespoke upholstered seating features two different styles to suit the various areas they are located within the Montpellier Chapter. Fusing classic periodic architecture with contemporary design, they create instant style and character to complement the splendour of the hotel’s Victorian roots.
The contemporary, stylish restaurant and newly-built garden room plays host to over 50 of Lyndon Design’s classic dining chairs that are created from carefully selected natural walnut timber and are finished with a natural lacquer, crafted to the highest quality. Combined with Milano Mink Crest Leather in brown, this bespoke range provides the ultimate in comfort and echoes the elegance of the hotel.
Lyndon Design’s classic dining chairs with large soft elbow rests are also featured in the hotel’s meeting rooms, the largest of which can sit 16 guests. In keeping with the hotel’s interior design style, these chairs incorporate solid walnut wood into a framed construction and are finished in the same Milano Mink Crest Leather in brown.
Philip Twiss, project architect at Make, says: “Lyndon Design supported our team during the design process enabling us to develop a bespoke range of upholstered seating. The designs complement our modern approach to interior design, the historic character of the original building and the individuality of the Montpellier Chapter.”
