The Society of British Interior Design (SBID) has officially opened the third edition of the SBID International Design Awards. Having firmly established the annual event as a prestigious recognition of interior design excellence, SBID”is introducing a new website, new judges and new categories.
The 14 categories are split between the residential and contract sectors, and range from Entertainment Space, Transport, Product and Public Space to Visualisation (three-dimensional renderings), Interior Design Project under £50,000 and KBB. The deadline for submitting entries is 18th August this year.
The awards will be judged by a panel of international industry leaders, including Theo Williams, head of design at John Lewis; Matthew Carlisle, creative director at Candy & Candy; Azhar Azhar, director at Conran + Partners; and David Lewis, MD at Sunseeker London.
Once all the entries are in, they will be displayed at the World Design Event in Amsterdam from 5-7th September. Shortlisted entries will then be announced at the IIDEX Dinner in Toronto on 26th September, followed by a tea event at the House of Lords on 28th November for sponsors and VIPs. Finally, the winners will be announced at the SBID awards ceremony at The Dorchester, London, on 29th November.
While entry is free of charge for SBID members, a fee applies for non-members. Previous finalists and winners are available to view on the awards’ official website.
