Rising above the world-famous shopping streets of London’s chic Knightsbridge district, the distinctive circular structure of The Park Tower Knightsbridge was originally conceived by celebrated architect, Richard Seifert. Now with newly refurbished public areas, the interior of the Luxury Collection hotel has been reimagined with a new generation of luxury travellers in mind.
Acclaimed interior designer, Anita Rosato, was tasked with redesigning the hotel’s lobby, lounge and bar, and she has more than delivered with a series of meticulously crafted, yet highly characterful spaces.
The soft foliage of neighbouring Hyde Park acted as the inspiration for Anita’s colour palette of sage greens, milky creams and silver. Artisanal materials complete the look, enhancing the hotel’s authentic feel and ambiance.
“From the exterior lighting sweeping up the tower, to the hand-picked finishes, such as the rich mahogany, light polished marble and glimmering metal accents, the feeling of anticipation and intrigue that guests will experience when arriving at the hotel was key,” says Anita. “This refurbishment celebrates the ethos of British design and utilises great craftsmanship whilst preserving the original spirit of the hotel.”
The hotel’s lobby now boasts a welcoming and luminous glow, completed by Sharon Marston’s magnificent crystal and porcelain chandelier. Behind the reception, an organic sculptural relief depicts Hyde Park’s rose gardens, with porcelain and gilded petals blowing in the breeze.
At the heart of the hotel, the Knightsbridge Lounge has also drawn upon this natural imagery, with hand-embroidered silk wallcoverings simulating an intricate canopy of magnolia trees.
Contemporary and intimate were the catchwords for the hotel bar’s redesign. With its elegant wood panelling, eclectic furniture and plush leather chairs, the new Hyde Bar brings to mind a modern-day British gentleman’s club.
Specialising in whiskies and cigars, the bar offers a full humidor, as well as an eclectic food and drink menu. For relaxed alfresco refreshments an outdoor terrace has been created adjacent to the bar. The space captures the spirit of a typical Knightsbridge townhouse garden, complete with sweet honeysuckle, rose and jasmine-trellised walls.
In addition to these transformed public spaces, The Park Tower Knightsbridge also features 280 guest rooms – including 22 luxurious suites with personalised butler service and panoramic views across London – a fully-equipped fitness centre, an award-winning seafood restaurant and the brand’s signature Collection Concierge service.
