Dominvs Hospitality, the Hospitality division of the Dominvs Group, has announced its plans to convert the Aston Hotel Darlington, Durham, into an IHG Holiday Inn Open Lobby concept property.
The transformation of the 80-bedroom hotel in Darlington involves a face-lift of the bedrooms, restaurant, public areas, conference rooms and lobby reception area. The concept aims to transform the way the guests see, interact and experience the hotels facilities.
The conversion entails changing the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area and conference facilities into a free-flowing, interactive and interconnected space for business and leisure guests.
Preet Ahluwalia, director at Dominvs Hospitality, says: “The novel concept will offer our clientele a brand-new hotel, contemporary restaurant and state-of-the-art conference facilities, allowing our guests to enjoy great food, relaxed atmosphere and great service. The feather in the cap of the new concept is our addition of the Starbucks offering, allowing guests the flexibility to eat in, eat out or enjoy take-away items in their rooms”.
Jason Hiley, operations director, adds: “We are ecstatic to be joining the IHG stable and converting our hotel to an Open Lobby concept. The sole purpose of the rebranding and refurbishment is to offer our guests a contemporary hotel at a local price.”
The Holiday Inn Darlington site is due to be launched to the public in early 2014.
