The Bespoke Hotel Group has announced the development of Hotel Gotham in Manchester. Set in an historic building designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the new luxury property is set to open in 2015 in collaboration with the property’s owner, Marshall Construction Group.
Hotel Gotham features 60 deluxe rooms, luxury suites including private gardens, a restaurant and a private members’ bar and garden situated on the roof of the building. Work will begin in March next year, and the hotel will open early spring 2015 – creating 100 new jobs, both full- and part-time.
Bespoke Hotels chairman, Robin Sheppard, says: “Hotel Gotham promises to be a fun, witty destination and a little bit naughty. We want it to be the sexiest hotel in Europe. Working with the skills of the Marshall Construction Group team as our partners, we hope to open up the character of this majestic building and present it to the Manchester public as a hotel they can be truly proud of.”
Simon Marshall, MD at the Marshall Construction Group, adds: “We are delighted to begin the transformation of this handsome Lutyens building into a first-class hotel with our partner, Bespoke Hotels. We are also grateful to Manchester’s Planning Authority’s enthusiasm for our scheme.”
