Espasso, a specialist in modern Brazilian furniture, art and design objects, has opened a temporary showroom in Clerkenwell, London. The new venue – located on Vine Hill – features a selection of works from Espasso’s collection, including pieces from mid-century masters Sergio Rodrigues, Paulo Mendesde Rocha and Jorge Zalszupin, as well as future classics by contemporary designers Carlos Motta and Etel Carmona.
Espasso is committed to conserving Brazil’s 20th-century design heritage and promoting the work of today’s leading Brazilian designers. Sitting alongside the company’s main collection is a selection of vintage pieces that further highlight the heritage and importance of Brazilian design and culture.
Carlos Junqueira, founder of Espasso, says: “We are excited to have a pop-up showspace in London’s most vibrant creative hub, and are very much look forward to bringing the best of Brazilian design to the area. We’ve had a great response since launching in the UK in 2012, and continue to promote Brazilian design word worldwide – most recently supplying pieces to Louis Vuitton temporary shop L’Aventure in Paris, an interior decoration project by Phillippe Starck, and Tara Bernerd’s own collection.”
