With its linear form and LED output, Astro‘s new Sparta light makes a striking partner to bathroom mirrors, representing an ideal application for the latest mid-power LEDs.

Thanks to its specially-developed polycarbonate diffuser – combined with the optimum number of LEDs – Sparta delivers a desired colour rendering index and lumen output, while being rated at 7.2W. Compared with 24W high-output tubes, Sparta provides a 70% saving in power consumption, while boosting light output by 23%.
The mid-power LEDs used were the key to Sparta’s successful conception. High-power LEDs caused spotting on the diffuser, while flexible strips did not give out a bright enough light.
Astro received a Queen’s Award for Export in July this year. The company was established in 1997 by MD John Fearon and design director James Bassant, and its substantial year-on-year growth is testament to close attention to detail in both design and service.
