The picturesque destination of Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, will become home to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts‘ newest property, which is set to open in April. The 289-room Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa will provide a luxurious base from which travellers can explore the area’s dramatic scenery and some of the world’s most culturally significant Buddhist sites.
The hotel will offer guests a full array of facilities and luxurious comforts – from a range of dining venues and recreational facilities, to spacious guest rooms and elegant meeting and event spaces. The hotel’s Horizon Club Lounge will provide destination information, arrange tours and transportation, and offer business services.
Among the hotel’s contemporary guest rooms are 10 long stay apartments. The guest rooms’ modern decor is grounded in neutral colours and accentuated with the earthy reds, deep blues and vibrant greens that are often seen in traditional Tibetan dress. Traditional Himalayan accents such as turquoise stone, decorative metals, floral patterns and auspicious symbols complement the contemporary design.
