Karen and David Richards, owners of The Idle Rocks hotel, have announced the acquisition of a second property in the Cornish seaside village of St Mawes.
The St Mawes Hotel, is situated alongside the harbour, only 200 yards from The Idle Rocks. The 14-bedroom hotel will be refreshed with a refurbishment planned to finish in time to welcome both hotel guests and village regulars for the summer season.
In line with this purchase, Tim House has been appointed hotel director, bringing over 27 years of senior management experience in a number of award-winning hotels including The Savoy Group; The Halcyon, London; L’Hôtel, Paris; and, more recently, Cowley Manor, Gloucestershire.
Karen Richards says: “We are very excited by this new acquisition, and particularly pleased that Tim will be joining us to head up both operations. His reputation for bringing out the best in his teams, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of the luxury end of the hospitality industry, makes him the perfect choice to move us onto the next level.”
Tim adds: “I am very much looking forward to working with The Idle Rocks team at this exciting time, supporting the growth of the company and working, once again, on the launch of a new hotel.”
