Julian Metcalfe, the name behind Pret A Manger, has announced plans to open a new itsu store in Oxford city centre on”Friday 27th”September, creating 18 jobs for the local community in the process.
The new branch will be the first outside of London for the acclaimed Asian-inspired itsu brand. With 104 seats over two floors, and an expansive menu of over 60 dishes – eat-in and takeaway – the brand prides itself on healthy fast food at a reasonable price.
The shop is to be managed by Ben Ambridge, previously general manager at the London”Bishopsgate and Victoria itsu branches.
“itsu has grown significantly from an independent sushi restaurant to a chain of Asian-inspired, healthy fast food shops,” says Gerald Loughlan, itsu’s CEO.
“We now have over 40 restaurants and shops in the UK, and it’s fantastic to see this expansion continuing with a new store in Oxford. We’re looking forward to opening our doors to the city very soon!”
itsu is currently expanding at a rate of 8-12 new UK sites per year, with a vision to extend to the USA within four years.
