Ester, designed by Patrick Jouin for Pedrali, is a new armchair within the Alain Ducasse restaurant at The Dorchester in Mayfair, London.
Created specifically for the restaurant, Ester is one of the higher quality models in Pedrali’s upholstered seating collection.
The sinuous and soft armchairs, in beige full-grain leather with refined die-casted aluminum legs in brushed bronze finish, integrate perfectly with the design of the restaurant, where natural fabrics such as leather, wood and cotton combine to striking effect in a palette of tan, cream and taupe.
Designed in 2007 by design agency, Jouin Manku, the restaurant boasts three unique private dining rooms; the spacious Salon Park Lane with a beautiful view on Hyde Park, the cosy Salon Privé and the stunning Table Lumière, the jewel of the restaurant, surrounded by 4,500 shimmering fiber optics which drop dramatically from the ceiling.
“The design of this armchair is the outcome of the experiences that I could achieve since I started designing restaurants,” says Patrick Jouin. “Ester armchair is a mix of elegance, ergonomics and functionality. The attention to detail is everywhere. The result is a precious monolith made of leather complemented by refined die-casted aluminum legs.
“Ester is the result of a lengthy process carried out with passion to create a final product that combined manufacturing excellence and creative genius, attention to detail and functionality,” says Giuseppe Pedrali, CEO of Pedrali. “It is greatly satisfying to see our armchair inside a Michelin star restaurant.”
