Barr + Wray, one of the world’s leading providers of spa engineering solutions, has boosted its in-house expertise by acquiring Dubai-based spa interior design specialists EDP International.
EDP has provided interior design services across the Middle East since 2005 and has significant experience of the varying cultural requirements across the region.
Both Barr + Wray and EDP have previously collaborated on a number of prestigious spa projects in Europe and the Middle East, including the Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and the Jumeirah Etihad Towers, both in Abu Dhabi.
The move will allow Barr + Wray to offer a more integrated and coordinated approach to spa engineering and interior design, giving customers the added reassurance of having all stages of a project managed under one roof, from design through to delivery.
Peter Rietveld, Managing Director of Barr + Wray in Dubai said: “We are excited about this acquisition and convinced this collaboration brings a long-awaited and refreshing approach to a growing market.
“We are now able to provide clients with one consultant to develop their spa brief through concept design up to construction, including the complex elements such as hydro and thermal spa areas.”
Three of EDP’s skilled designers will transfer to Barr + Wray’s operations in Dubai and Glasgow, Scotland.
Barr + Wray Limited group Managing Director Alister MacDonald said: “In recent years, we have seen a growth in enquiries for spa interior design services from the Middle East region and this move is a demonstration of our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs while growing the business.”
