The UK’s definitive furnishings fair, May Design Series, organised by UBM Live Built Environment, has announced that it has answered demands for its high calibre programme of Conversation Series seminars and discussions to be made available to watch online – in addition to some exclusive, never before seen content.
With 100 million viewers digesting streamed video content every day, and over 26 million viewers streaming video this April in the UK alone, May Design Series seeks to continue to meet the overwhelming demand for engaging, interactive content even after the doors to the event have closed.
The Conversation Series was undoubtedly a show highlight, with many visitors praising its diverse line-up of knowledgeable speakers which addressed issues in both the contract and retail markets. In addition to being streamed live from the show this Spring, 17 sessions are now available to watch in high-quality video at www.maydesignseries.com. Speakers included The Trend Bible forecaster Anri Hamilton, architect and interior designer Daniel Hopwood, and a series of Retail Roundtables hosted by The Furnishing Report which welcomed representatives from Occa Home, Furniture Village, Dwell and more. The popular session from acclaimed interior designer Ab Rogers – who designed the very theatre in which the seminars took place – is also available online.
Additionally, available for the first time is a selection of previously unseen interviews with some of the industry’s key figureheads, including speakers, exhibitors and trade association members. Acclaimed interior designer and architect Johannes Torpe spoke to May Design Series about current challenges faced by retail spaces, and how design can be used to an advantage in a short video interview. Arianna Trapani and Carole King, co-Editors of Heart Home magazine, give their top product picks from the show, andSukhneet Assee speaks about her role at industry body FIRA. Additional interviews come from exhibitors including Susanne Neilson from lighting specialists EBB & FLOW, Justin Van Breda, Innermost co-founder Russell Cameron, and many more.
“Video is one of the most important ways of sharing information online, and we want to reflect this in our content offering,” says Suzie Ager, brand director for The Furniture Show at May Design Series. “This year we wanted to go above and beyond providing recordings of the seminars, so we created the exclusive interviews – we want to be able to share our industry insights throughout the year and across the globe, not just to our visitors whilst doors are open. The other positive is that the videos will drive additional traffic to the website, providing further exposure for our exhibitors and partners alike.”
May Design Series will run from 17-19 May 2015 at ExCeL London, and is comprised of five design districts: DX, Lighting [including ARC], Kitchen + Bathroom, Decor and The Furniture Show.
