Typing Room at the Town Hall Hotel has been awarded the coveted three Rosettes by the AA, as announced today.
The restaurant opened to critical acclaim in May 2014 under Executive Chef Lee Westcott, and was received as one of London’s most exciting restaurant openings of the year.
Lee Westcott, an innovative chef with stellar credentials, has swiftly become known as a rising star of the London restaurant scene. Before opening Typing Room, his first solo restaurant, Westcott worked with Jason Atherton as Executive Chef running Atherton’s two Hong Kong restaurants. Previously Westcott spent four years working alongside Tom Aiken as head chef of Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea.
This latest accolade follows acclaim in the 2015 restaurant guides with the 2015 Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland describing the cooking as “clever and accomplished with flavours that are distinct and complementary”, while The Waitrose Good Food Guide 2015 awarded the restaurant a cooking score of five. The Harden’s London Guide (2015 edition) included Typing Room within the editor’s pick of the top 10 most notable newcomers.
Typing Room is backed by Jason Atherton and hotelier Peng Loh.
