Generator, the innovative, design-led hostel group, will debut in Stockholm, in 2016. Continuing the brand’s rapid expansion, the property will open its doors in the city’s thriving technology hub at 10 Torsgatan just in time for Swedish National Day.
Like all Generator properties, the brand new addition to one of the fastest growing hostel groups will offer a lifestyle experience in one of the top 10 European cities. DesignAgency, the Toronto-based interior design firm behind every Generator project, will transform the building with upscale micro-chic accommodations, local flare, and vibrant spaces that reflect the city’s aesthetics and culture. Accommodations will include suites, premium private rooms, and shared hostel lodging, all of which will feature en-suite bathrooms.
The property will also feature lively social spaces, bars and restaurants available to both property guests and locals, integrating art, music, design, and performances from Stockholm-based artists. True to Generator’s successful concept, these unique partnerships will bring the best of the city to visitors and create new hang-out spots for residents.
The 11-floor property will offer travelers an experiential destination in the heart of Sweden’s capital, a short walk from Central Station, and a five minute walk to Drottninggatan, a major pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants that runs through downtown Stockholm. Named in honor of the country’s Queen Christina, Drottninggatan has served as a top attraction since the late 1600s.
“I am delighted to bring Generator’s leading edge concept to my home country Sweden with an amazing location in Stockholm,” saysFredrik Korallus, chief executive officer of Generator. “With this property we are introducing a unique lifestyle experience to the capital by connecting the millennial global traveler with the vibrant Stockholm community.”
