Five-star Blythswood Square and the iconic Grand Central Hotel have been recognised at the inaugural Scottish Hospitality Awards.
Blythswood Square won Best City Hotel and Best Bar for The Salon whilst Graeme Gibson, the general manager at the iconic four-star Grand Central Hotel was named General Manager of the Year at the glittering awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
Blythswood Square, awarded best city hotel and best bar, is one of the city’s most exclusive five-star spa hotels with 100 stylish guest rooms including a number of suites and a spectacular penthouse.
The elegant Salon, rated ‘one of the world’s best bars’ by Class Magazine, offers beautiful garden views along with delicious food, fizz, cocktails and one of the city’s best afternoon teas.
Renowned for their champagne collection, The Salon offers some of the world’s most loved champagne brands such as Moët & Chandon, Dom Perignon, Ruinart and Cristal.
The general manager award win celebrates Graeme’s integral role in maintaining and building upon Grand Central’s impeccable reputation as a luxury hotel destination, since taking on the role in 2015.
Graeme, who lives in Paisley, said: “I’m honoured to be considered as one of the country’s top general managers, particularly against the tough competition within the Glasgow region.
“We work hard as a team on a daily basis to ensure we’re giving our guests the best possible experience from the moment they walk through the door. I never lose my enthusiasm for the job. The hotel has such a great history and welcomes such a variety of guests that no two days are ever the same.”
