Inspired by the chronicled stretch of land built for traders in the 16th century, Rajesh Suri’s Grand Trunk Road is a culinary dedication to a historical staple for the varied and evocative flavours of Indian history.
Instrumental in the rise of Michelin Star Indian food establishments, and with more than 30 years’ experience, Rajesh Suri’s Grand Trunk Road is one that honors the combination of classic dishes and ancient methods with contemporary surroundings and welcoming décor.
Based in East London’s South Woodford, the Grand Trunk Road is adjacent to The Woodford; an exciting addition to an area that continues to play host to quality venues with elegant surroundings and sumptuous menus.
Formerly of Mayfair’s Tamarind, as well as Imli and Zaika, legendary restaurateur Rajesh Suri has once again teamed up with Head Chef Dayashankar Sharma to devise an offering that boasts an exquisite plethora of regional dishes prepared authentically, with an appreciation for traditional
cooking methods.
Each dish reflects the true diversity of the towns along the Grand Trunk Road. A collection of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes will be on offer, with a stunning selection of traditional breads and unique chutneys.
