MSMR Architects has appointed hotel and leisure specialist David Gabriel to lead the London-based practice’s expansion into this market.
David, who joins as Head of Hospitality and Leisure Development, was formerly a Partner and Head of Design Management at Arcadis, where he was instrumental in planning and influencing the internal design of Phases 1 and 2 of Qatari Diar’s Chelsea Barracks.
He brings with him a wealth of experience providing interior architecture and design for the international hospitality industry, having worked with brands including Cunard, Gleneagles, Bespoke Hotels, Ramada, Copthorne-Millenium Hotels, Slaley Hall Hotel and the Hotel Des Bergues Geneva.
David was also responsible for the design of the iconic Grade 2*-listed Cinnamon Club in Westminster and Roast Restaurant in Borough Market.
David will work closely with MSMR directors Mike Storey, Simon Robinson, Sheila McCusker and James Bell to further the architecture practice’s reach in the Hospitality market.
“We are delighted to have David join the MSMR team at an important phase in our development and look forward to taking his expertise and knowledge to our clients,” says Mike Storey, director MSMR Architects. “David’s understanding of the industry is a huge boost to us and he will be integral to our expansion.”
David Gabriel adds: “This is a very exciting move for me. MSMR has an enviably strong track record delivering high-end residential schemes in the capital, and I’m looking forward to helping expand the practice’s scope and breadth of services into the hotel and hospitality sectors, both in the UK and internationally.”
