The new 160 bedroom modular build hotel – managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH) – is perfectly positioned within the Heriot Watt University Campus in Edinburgh, located next to Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre.
Scotland national rugby union squad Head Coach, Gregor Townsend, and player Stuart Hogg were on hand to officially cut the ribbon on the brand new venue.
It is expected that the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel, with its excellent facilities and comfortable accommodation, will complement both the university campus and the work going on in the field at Oriam for top sportspeople.
The hotel brings thoughtfully designed guestrooms that promote comfort and productivity, a relaxed dining experience in The Avenue restaurant, a well-stocked bar, bistro and market shop alongside three meeting rooms and private dining.
With world class sporting facilities next door, the hotel has been designed to also accommodate sports teams keen to make use of the Oriam, including the national rugby team, and provides the perfect base for travelling athletes.
The new hotel is ideally located in the west of Edinburgh city centre, within the heart of Heriot Watt University’s Edinburgh woodland campus, and only a few miles from Edinburgh Airport, providing much needed accommodation and meeting space to the city.
“Edinburgh is the UK’s most popular visitor destination outside of London and I’m thrilled to welcome our guests to this brand new, unique hotel,” says Will Macpherson, GM of Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West.
“It will have everything business and leisure travellers need, with the hotel being close to not only the city centre, but the airport too. Plus, being so close to the Oriam, it provides the perfect setting for sportspeople who want to use these world class facilities.”
