Named for an officers’ mess onboard a warship, The Wardroom will officially launch on 16th April.
Previously called Steak on Sea, the restaurant has a modern new look and new creative menu inspired by modern British cuisine. The hotel’s bar has also been renamed to The Mess Deck, with a new summer menu.
“As we are positioned right by the sea, our new name is much more in keeping with the seaside vibe of the hotel,” comments Paul Wright, General Manager at The Old Ship Hotel. “We’re delighted with the restaurant’s new decor, and our head chef Phil Mesquita has done a great job creating a contemporary, flavoursome and diverse menu which represents what people want to eat now.”
The Old Ship Hotel is one of ten hotels nationally to make up The Cairn Collection, a portfolio of 10 hand-picked hotels across the UK.
The ten hotels in The Cairn Collection are: The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate; The Redworth Hall Hotel, Durham; The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton; The Angel Hotel, Cardiff; Stirling Highland Hotel, Stirling; The Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle; Stoke Place Hotel, Buckinghamshire; Saint George’s Hotel, London; Cairn Hotel Newcastle and Cairn Hotel Edinburgh.
