Swedish architect and designer Jonas Wagell started his collaboration with Tacchini last year by launching the Roma sofa and armchair at Milan Salone del Mobile. This year, he has designed a family of upholstered seats with soft and enveloping shapes, Julep, inspired by the avant-garde design of the 50s, which recovers its simplicity and grandeur, softened by a contemporary, romantic and feminine allure.
Julep was officially presented at Milan Design Week, but will make its debut in London during Clerkenwell Design Week.
Round and generous, the sofa is the signature piece of the entire Julep system, which is composed of an armchair, three or four-seater sofas and an ottoman – in a game of proportions and volumes that lead the way to very expressive variations, like the three-seater sofa with oversized seat and the sofa with chaise longue.
Fully upholstered, the seats look full and plentiful, yet light, thanks to the recessed base that lifts them invisibly from the ground.
Due to their comfortable appearance that invites to intimacy and rest, Julep’s seats are perfect in domestic spaces, but also suitable for contract environments.
The Tacchini booth will be located at the Design Fields section of the show, ground floor DF10.
