The first in a string of new openings from Native, Bankside will add to the brand’s existing portfolio of over 25 properties across the UK.
Located on historic Bear Gardens, Native Bankside sees a complete regeneration of an 18th century tea warehouse into an aparthotel offering 75 studios, one and two bedroom apartments furnished by Conran Contracts.
With 24-hour check-in, free high speed Wi-Fi and a communal workspace, this new aparthotel will offer a real ‘home from home’ experience targeting both corporate and leisure travellers.
Perfectly located a short walk from cultural attractions such as Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market, Native Bankside will be the brand’s flagship London property and one of the capital’s leading aparthotels – a sector that has shown record growth in recent years.
Native has taken measures to preserve the heritage of the building with polished concrete, exposed brick walls and the original arched warehouse windows. The building is BREEAM excellent rated offering a substantially reduced emission allocation to corporate clients tracking their carbon emissions through the Carbon Disclosure Project.
“This has been a rare opportunity to take a beautiful heritage building in one of London’s most culturally vibrant areas and transform it into a stylish aparthotel,” comments Guy Nixon, CEO of Native.
“The launch of Native Bankside is the first milestone in plans to expand our aparthotel business in all major cities across the UK and will set a benchmark for the category in terms of design.”
Native is set to open a further two new aparthotels over the next six months, with Native Glasgow also opening in the Autumn and London Warehouse in Manchester, opening in January 2019.
