Celebrity Silhouette is the latest ship in Celebrity Cruises‘ growing fleet to complete the Celebrity Revolution, part of the cruise line’s biggest fleet-wide modernisation ever, with more than $500m in luxurious upgrades.
Celebrity Silhouette is making even more waves in the cruise world. From adding brand-new staterooms and elevating design concepts and technology across the ship, to adding The Retreat, an exclusive suite-class experience including The Retreat Sundeck and The Retreat Lounge, the results are “phenomenal”. These new venues, combined with its award-winning private suite-class restaurant, Luminae, are sure to please, states Celebrity Cruises.
“The modernisation of Celebrity Silhouette takes one of the most gorgeous ships in our fleet closer to the Edge,” says Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO, Celebrity Cruises. “In many spaces, we worked down to the studs and built it all back up again in the modern, ultra-luxurious style that is synonymous with our innovative Edge Series, while still keeping much of the Solstice Series charm and beauty our guests have grown to cherish.”
Transforming the brand’s award-winning ships gave Celebrity the opportunity to bring its already-world-class suite experience on board Celebrity Silhouette. Visionary designer, Kelly Hoppen, MBE, has infused the newly added Signature Retreat on Celebrity Silhouette with her style – a subtle, co-ordinated fusion of East meets West, with clean lines, neutral tones, and a warm, inviting opulence.

When redesigning the accommodations, every detail was carefully thought through with guest comfort front and centre. Celebrity collaborated with renowned international hospitality design firm, Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), to transform the staterooms and many of the suites on board Celebrity Silhouette into a statement on modern luxury.
“Every detail of our staterooms has been elevated, every comfort refined,” says Brian Abel, senior VP, hotel operations, Celebrity Cruises. “By the end of the Celebrity Revolution, the entire fleet will have the same quality, design essence and consistency of modern luxury.”
Celebrity Silhouette boasts accommodations that rival some of the world’s best boutique hotels. HBA Miami crafted the streamlined interiors of the ship’s 1451 staterooms, including the wellness-focused AquaClass staterooms, the Concierge Class staterooms with upgraded services and amenities, the Veranda staterooms with unparalleled panoramas of the sea and a direct connection to the outdoors, Ocean View staterooms, and Inside staterooms.
Sophisticated and modern, yet timeless, every detail of the staterooms has been elevated and rethought with luxury, functionality, and refined guest comfort in mind. Taking cues from the pace of nature, the ebb of daylight from dusk to dawn to dusk again, and the energy and warmth of light, HBA Miami opted for a muted tonal and textured palette, with accents in colours inspired by the sky and sea.

The overall ambiance is clean, minimal and serene. Wood panelling serves as a backdrop against an upholstered headboard, while abstract artwork and an intimate seating area add a residential feel. Modular furniture including a desk, television panel, bedside table, and open closet with drawers, is ingeniously optimised for storage. Ample storage is carried through into the bathrooms along with the material palette of wood and stone, carefully considered for luxury and longevity.
The refreshed staterooms have a sense of spaciousness and lightness, using material and tonal changes that subliminally organise the stateroom into ‘active’ and ‘sleep’ areas. The simple, tailored, timeless design speaks to the modern luxury and sophistication celebrated by Celebrity Cruises.
Other stand out areas include:
* The Retreat Lounge (formerly Michael’s Club), an exclusive 24/7 lounge for suite-class guests designed by Kelly Hoppen – the ultimate all-inclusive area – and the new Retreat Sundeck, an exclusive, sun-soaked hideaway featuring luxurious new cabanas, loungers, hot tub and bar areas supplied by leading brands JANUS et Cie and Gloster (also designed by Kelly).
