Blum UK, a leading international fittings furniture manufacturer for the KBB industry, had a busy and rewarding experience at the recent London edition of the kbb show at this year’s May Design Series.
Matthew Walmsley and Andrea Hillier – who head up Blum UK’s retail service division – were the senior representatives on the stand. Matthew says that they experienced a successful and busy show: “What was good for us is that we came face to face with a new target audience of interior designers, specifiers and architects – many of whom were new to experiencing our products first hand,” he says.
“In particular, our Tandembox antaro drawerbox and pull-out systems in all their permutations attracted great interest. Equally well received was the Aventos lift system variations with automatic Servo-Drive opening and closing, along with our Orga-Line internal dividing and organisational ideas – which we showed fully propped.”
The products on show were carefully selected to meet the UK market requirements of the future, and will give visitors a wide vision to stimulate their ongoing desire to move their products forward through design, product quality and innovation.
The Tandembox antaro system of drawerboxes and pull-outs took centre stage, at a time when Blum UK has made the announcement the entire programme of Tandembox antaro drawer systems in grey are now held in stock at Milton Keynes with 48-hour free delivery. In addition to the grey, Blum UK will also stock a more controlled programme of Tandembox antaro designs in Silk White, to give increased potential for differentiation.
Tandembox antaro is the latest system of drawer side and interior designs from Blum, and offers a minimalist design with a rectangular cross section and simple lines. Tandembox antaro comes with a complete range of colour-co-ordinated nylon accessories which includes dividers, connectors and cover caps. Blum announced that customers will be able to upgrade to Tandembox antaro at no extra cost.
Blum is a leader in lift systems for wall cabinets, and its Aventos system – which provides an effortless opening movement and integrated Blumotion soft closing – were shown in all four variants: bi-fold, up and over, vertical lift and stay lift. Aventos can be fitted with Blum’s Servo-Drive automatic electric opening and closing system.
The award-winning Clip top Blumotion concealed range of hinges were also demonstrated. The unique design has been micro-engineered to contain the Blumotion soft-close mechanism within the hinge boss, so that the component remains sleek and attractive. Furthermore the Blumotion feature can be easily de-activated to offer versatility when using doors of differing sizes, weights and materials. Clip top Blumotion has recently won the FIRA Innovation Award, which adds to an impressive list of international awards for design and performance.
Movento is a state-of-the-art runner system for Tandembox for wooden drawers. Movento uses a special system of synchronisation and lateral stability to give a superior running action under Blum’s banner of Perfecting Motion.
Matthew concludes: “All in all it was a new experience for both ourselves and many of the visitors to our stand – it certainly resulted in being to the benefit of our customers.”
