Design and fitness have come together in Ciclotte. An evolution of the Ciclò project – an innovative prototype of the mono-wheel city-bike, which is now part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum, Milan – Ciclotte is an exercise bike that combines form and function to create a striking piece for hotel and luxury gyms.
Ciclotte was designed by Luca Schieppati and is manufactured by Lamiflex Group in Bergamo, Italy. Luca explains the design process: “The large wheel of Ciclotte is the heart of the project. The first difficulty that we faced was creating an actual exercise bike maintaining the original design and shape of Ciclò.
“We worked on the electro-magnetic resistance system and then on the handlebars and seat setting systems. At the end we reached our goal – a design and highly-technological exercise-bike, able to satisfy both fitness lovers and aesthetes.”
