Desso Hospitality has unveiled its newest axminster carpet collection, Heavenly Gradients & Transforming Textures vol.1. The collection, created by Desso designers Sophie Duran and Jonathan Currell, represents different manifestations of nature’s gradients.
The everchanging state of the sky was the source of inspiration for this collection. The sky changes constantly from featuring heavy clouds to being serene and spotless, and can be full of bright clashing colours or tones that fade into the night. The colour palette for this collection is based on the sunset, whic creates dramatic gestures that are ideal for being installed in large spaces.
Another interpretation for this collection is the dip dye trend, which can also be seen in fashion. Desso Hospitality has translated this trend into partly-bold coloured rugs with smooth yet textured backgrounds. This suggests the rug has been dipped in a bucket of paint, making the process seem uncontrolled. The combination of these gradients creates a feeling of depth.
The Heavenly Gradients & Transforming Textures vol.1 collection – alongside others in the portfolio, such as Intrinsic Energy and Urban Retro – are available to view on Desso Hospitality’s website.
