Into Lighting has provided creative lighting solutions for all three panoramic restaurants at Renzo Piano’s iconic London building, The Shard. Into was appointed lighting design consultant for Oblix, Hutong and Aqua Shard, contributing to each restaurant’s striking and distinctive interior.
Hutong and Aqua Shard have also been shortlisted in the 2014 Lighting Design Awards, the winners of which will be announced next March.
Within each of the venues, the lighting was used to enhance the materials used within the space. All elements of the lighting scheme needed to be subtle and carefully controlled to ensure a dramatic and intimate feel to the venue was maintained. It was also important to provide flexibility to change the illumination depending on the function within each of the spaces.
Into is a truly global lighting design practice, with studios in London and New Delhi as well as established partnerships in Germany, Hong Kong and the USA.
