Bury FC’s players have the best home comforts in League Two after Kronospan stepped up to sponsor The JD Stadium’s home dressing room. Hoping to play a part in Bury FC’s excellent recent home form, Kronospan worked alongside the football club to renovate the player’s changing room and give them a professional environment to prepare for matches.
The new facilities were unveiled to the players before Bury FC’s derby clash with Rochdale. The Shakers took to the pitch to gain a 0-0 draw against their promotion pushing rivals and clock-up a 10-game unbeaten run at The JD Stadium in Gigg Lane.
David Flitcroft, Bury FC first-team manager, said: “The new home changing room is outstanding. It’s a statement of intent from the chairman about where the club is going. It’ll give the players a professional edge and shows them that we’ll do everything we can to support them; because if you treat players like champions, eventually they will become champions.”
Players and backroom staff were banned from the changing room while it was renovated over a three-day period. Kronospan supplied the panel board surfaces Santana Oak (6602 HE) and Graphite Grey (0162 PE), and Hill’s Panel Products (HPP), based in Oldham, cut and edged the board to be fitted in the changing room.
Richard Hughes, sales manager for Kronospan, said: “It was great to work with Bury FC and HPP on this project. We’re delighted to be associated with a football club that has major plans for the future and is such an important part of the community.
“Using the right surface designs to create a certain atmosphere – whether it’s in the office, home or a professional football club – makes a real difference to people’s attitude, perceptions and confidence. To know that we play a small part in the players’ preparation for each home game is exciting.”
