A system of products from Mapei‘s resin and cementitious flooring line has been utilised in the refurbishment of the new Red Hot Buffet World restaurant in Nottingham.
Mapei’s cementitious flooring system, Ultratop, was deemed ideal for the renovation of the old night club building, transforming the existing concrete and ply wood substrates.
Flooring contractor, Bill Construction, used Mapei’s Primer SN, a two-component epoxy primer, followed by a selection of colours from Mapei’s Ultratop range, including standard, rust red, light grey, white and anthracite.
The system was then completed using Mapei’s Mapecrete Stain Protection and Mapelux Lucida, a double-reticulation, high-strength, shiny wax. This complete system ensured that the 2000m² cementitious flooring – which was installed throughout the dining areas, reception, toilets and back of house – was finished to a high standard.
After attending an Ultratop training day at Mapei’s on-site training facility – located at its Halesowen head office – Bill Construction specified the flooring system because of the stylish aesthetics it provides, while offering a durable and hardwearing finish.
Ultratop is a fast-setting, self-levelling mortar, which can be tailored to either a polished or non-polished finish – making it an ideal flooring solution for a range of environments. Offering strength and versatility, the cementitious surfaces are durable while providing a seamless, impermeable finish.
Popular among designers, Ultratop is now available in seven colours – light grey, white, beige, anthracite, rust red, standard (light brown) and new extra white. It can also be further enhanced with the use of coloured aggregates.
