Mimi Emmett is a British illustrator and print designer who has recently launched her debut fabric collection.
Mimi’s childhood on the North Norfolk coast – where her father owns an interior and lifestyle store – has been a strong influence on her passion for print and design. This love of coastal living, country homes, the British countryside and raw hand-drawn design are convyed through the sophisticated use of colour and line in her work.
Mimi studied Textile Design at The University of Leeds for two years, before finishing the last year of her degree at Norwich University of the Arts, where she specialised in illustration and digital design, graduating in July 2014. Since then, Mimi’s work has been selected for the ‘New Designers’ showcase in Islington, and in the same year was chosen to exhibit at the ‘Dulux Design Service New Talent Show’.
Alongside the launch of her debut fabric collection, Mimi also applies her work to collaborative and commission-based projects, and works to order from her home studio in North Norfolk. In the future she aims to expand her range into products, and is keen to branch into the hospitality sector.
