London-based design and architecture practice, TILT, exhibited at The Farmiloe Building as part of Clerkenwell Design Week for the first time in May. Fast becoming one of the leading experts on the design of collaborative spaces, TILT’s codesign methodology incorporates the needs of end users in the design of space, encouraging the exploration of the role of objects, furniture and design in the space.
While technology advances, books remain loved. Open Book is a seat and a library that celebrates the printed form. The piece provides a comfortable reading space for users wanting a quieter moment, while offering a display for books and magazines of any size and shape.
Originally created for a Grade II Listed building in which a library was needed but shelves couldn’t be installed, Open Book is an example of TILT’s ability to playfully mix briefs and styles to create distinctive furniture.
