Creating beautiful and practical architecture, interiors and products, SAY Architects was set up by Gordon Young and Johann Schnaus, who met during training at the Royal College of Art, London.
Based in London’s artistically vibrant EC1, the company’s output has been wide ranging, with restaurant projects including ‘Hutong’ in the Shard, ‘Engawa’ in Ham Yard as well as the full refurbishment of the Hare & Tortoise restaurants in Ealing and Kensington.
The practice values good client relationships, always lending a close ear to each individual brief. It believes that architecture should be an engaging and creative process; that it should be accessible and inspiring; and that it should be most relevant to the people who will use it.
SAY, an official UK dealer, will be showcasing Molo on stand 320 at the Restaurant Design Show, a range of modular space shaping wall, lighting and display systems. Made from a paper or textile honeycomb structure, they have been designed to be uniquely shaped for a specific occasion or space and can easily be reshaped again in variable and dynamic ways.
Molo products were incorporated into ENO’s production of Dr Dee, a visionary opera written by Damon Albarn and directed by Rufus Norris. Softwall is also held in the MoMA permanent collection in New York.
