Solus Ceramics, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of ceramic, porcelain, glass and metal tiles, has launched Boardwalk, an innovative range of wood-effect floor tiles. Boardwalk has been created to mimic the size and shape of traditional floorboards, and possess the texture and distinctive surface quality of real wood. The range is available in a number of colours, including shades inspired by oak, silver birch, mahogany and whitewashed pine.
Wood-effect floor tiles are an ideal alternative to natural wood flooring solutions. The surface is able to withstand heavy use without showing wear and tear, will not fade or darken in the sun, and can be cleaned quickly and easily on a daily basis. Furthermore, the tiles will not warp with changes in moisture levels or temperature – unlike real wood – and enhance the effects of under-floor heating.
The tiles can be laid in a number of ways, including traditional grid patterns and more innovative and contemporary herringbone or brick-bond styles. The floor tiles also have an impressive slip-resistance rating, so can be used effectively in both residential and commercial areas.
