Moveable partition specialist, Style, was contracted to divide the main conference room at central London’s new ME hotel. A number of Dorma Huppe Variflex sliding partitions – finished in a striking combination of wood veneer and fabric – were used to complement the property’s striking interior.
Working with architect, Foster & Partners, and contractor, Mivan, Style used a high level of attention to detail to deliver a high-quality partitioning solution. The high-specification installation allows the 300-guest ME Room to be divided into multiple facilities capable of accommodating much smaller groups.
With its own private reception area and cloakroom facilities, the ME Room can accommodate large events and functions or divided into any combination of up to six smaller meetings rooms.
Ideally offsetting the wood veneer and fabric finish to the partitioning, stainless-steel foot plates protect each panel when in operation. Style also incorporated a Flush Telescopic Panel, giving each moveable partitioning wall a seamless line when in place. Providing easy access between divided rooms, Style installed a single- and double-pass door into the moveable wall.
The Dorma Huppe Variflex partitioning system has panels constructed separately from the frame, allowing greater scope for creative interior design. Making Variflex a sustainable solution in the long term, this feature allows individual panels to be replaced if they become damaged over time or the finish can be updated to match decor changes.
Julian Sargent, MD at Style, comments: “We are always proud to be chosen for the very highest specification jobs, especially when every detail of the moveable wall solution has to be perfect.
“The hotel sector is a very important market for us, and we can offer considerable value to architects, contractors and end-user clients by developing innovative, and also breathtaking, solutions from our extensive product range.”
