Known for its premium restaurants and cafes, Grupo Cappuccino has now ventured into the hotel world with this elegant new property just a short walk from the city’s main tourist attractions.
For Juan Picornell, owner of Grupo Cappuccino, HOTEL MAMÁ provided the perfect opportunity to collaborate with a designer he had long admired – Jacques Grange – on a property he had dreamt of for years.
Renowned for his bold vision and unique eye for detail, Jacques Grange’s prestigious project portfolio spans the homes of Yves Saint Laurent and Princess Caroline of Monaco to the beautiful Palazzo Margarita hotel in Southern Italy and The Mark Hotel in New York.
Given Palma’s vibrancy – both in terms of its rich culture and history and visually, in terms of its honied architectural palette – it was of paramount importance that HOTEL MAMÁ should radiate its own unique character.
All of the furniture has thus been custom-made or adapted by Jacques Grange and made-to-measure between France, Italy and New York. An extensive art collection adds to this bespoke feel, including works from Sean Scully, Wendy Artin, Chales Maze, David Rochline, Marie Banier and Eva Jospin – all personal favourites of Juan Picornell’s.
HOTEL MAMÁ’s 32 guest rooms are split into five bespoke styles – Marella, Celadon, Garden, Oriental and Roman. The most compact are the Roman Rooms, which feature elegant decor with painstaking attention to detail, and the Superior Rooms, which make use of handicraft materials, delicate fabrics and Art Deco furniture.
The Deluxe Rooms are spacious and cheerful with a lively decor bathed in light from the old town of Palma, while the suites are inspired by the breadth and beauty of the Mallorcan Palaces, featuring fresh paintings, delicate pastel fabrics and natural stone bathrooms.
Adjacent to the elegant lobby, the Cappucino Grand Café serves up classic brunch dishes and traditional cocktails, while its peaceful interior patio offers a peaceful refuge from the bustle of the city.
The hotel’s Tahini Sushi Bar & Restaurant, meanwhile, occupies a tranquil spot on the ground floor of the hotel surrounded by Japanese cypresses and showcasing original works of art.
Offering an exceptional menu of both exquisite classic and creative Asiatic dishes, using produce of the highest quality, the restaurant is the perfect place for relaxing intimate dinners or for get togethers with family and friends.
A sumptuous spa, private cinema, rooftop pool and gymnasium complete HOTEL MAMÁ’s impressive offering.
