The Sans Souci Hotel occupies a beautifully-restored classical Viennese building which has breath-taking views – it is a hotel which is perfectly attuned to the heritage of the city. This modern take on Viennese style makes the Sans Souci Hotel the perfect retreat right in the centre of Vienna. The hotel has 63 rooms and suites, restaurant, bar and the Sans Souci Spa Club with a sizeable day spa. Fifteen private residences on the upper floors of the building provide the best in urban living.
The yoo Studio, alongside architect David Archer, worked intensely with the Sans Souci Group to distil the essence of Viennese opulence and mix it with contemporary design classics, a sense of irreverence and an excellent art collection, to create a finely balanced atmosphere of modern luxury.
Hand-picked fine antiques sit side-by-side with pieces by Tom Dixon, Arne Jacobsen and Philippe Starck, in the rooms and the public spaces. CEO of Sans Souci Group, Norbert Winkelmayer’s personal collection of modern art is on view throughout the hotel, and includes Roy Lichtenstein, Allen Jones and Steve Kaufman.
CEO of yoo Hotels, Marco Nijhof, says: “We are extremely proud to have designed the Sans Souci Hotel, as it captures the essence of what it is to be in Vienna, while at the same time giving guests the yoo experience of great design and seamless luxury. The Sans Souci is also a hub for the local scene, thanks to the high quality restaurants and bar, and of course the Sans Souci day spa. This combination of great design and a sense of place is what yoo Hotels is all about.”
“Charismatic luxury probably best describes the secret of the Sans Souci Wien Hotel”, explains Norbert Winkelmayer. “It is the special combination of art, design and good taste which defines the incomparable Sans Souci charm. Not ostentatious but with a reserved coolness – it is a way of life.”
