Founded in 2004, Ping Pong is a contemporary and lively group of restaurants serving dim sum, artisanal cocktails and Chinese teas to over 11,000 customers every week. The brand has a presence across the globe – in countries such as the UK, the US, the UAE and India – and has now opened a venue at the newly-launched London Designer Outlet, Wembley Park.
Created in collaboration with Caulder Moore, the interior design of Ping Pong, Wembley Park, is reminiscent of urban Shanghai in the 1930s. Artwork within the space comprises that reference to Chinese culture, as well as bespoke illustrations hand-painted onto furnishings by Wayne Chisnall.
Furniture designed by Andy Martin Architects sits alongside custom-made artwork, lighting and panelling, with splashes of paprika red, jade green and charcoal grey creating a striking aesthetic throughout.
The dim sum counter has been bought forward to the front of the restaurant, allowing customers to observe their food being prepared, adding authenticity to the dining experience. The tea bar features copper tea pots stacked high on timber shelves, alongside boxes of tea piled one on top of another. The cocktail bar, meanwhile, is cladded with fractured wall panels situated near the entrance.
Art Sagiryan, CEO of Ping Pong, says: “The opening of Wembley Park marks Ping Pong’s continued successful eight years in business. Wembley will open with new Ping Pong branding and design, and I am very excited to see this come to life at such an exciting location.”
