The V&A, Tate Modern and National Portrait Gallery, all famous art hubs in the heart of the creative capital of Europe, but now there is a new ‘must-see’ for those art lovers out there – The Cumberland Hotel.

As a supporter of modern art, The Cumberland Hotel has announced that this month Gregory Burns will be their very first ‘Artist in Residence’. Gregory is an inspirational individual having competed in three Paralympic games and won six gold and silver medals. Today, as an internationally renowned contemporary artist his work is exhibited all over the world.

For the month of July, between the hours of 2-6pm, Gregory will be painting ‘live’ in The Cumberland lobby creating a bespoke collage of his journey throughout London, sourcing inspiration from the hotel’s iconic location, guest experiences and staff memories of the capital city.

To celebrate their first ever ‘Artist in Residence’ The Cumberland Hotel is offering guests a unique ‘Art-full’ stay package. Teaming up with London Walks, guests will be guided through some of the best art hot spots in the area followed by an art-inspired cocktail, with a chance to meet ‘live-in’ artist Gregory Burns and a tailor made art pack provided in their room so they can capture their own memories of their time in London.

“I love exploring London taking my art pad wherever I go,” says Gregory Burns. “Thanks to The Cumberland Hotel I have a chance to speak to guests and staff from all over the world and capture what London means to them. My painting is inspired by a collection of people with personal experiences and I look forward to adding to it over the next few weeks.”

The ‘Art-full’ Stay package includes:
Breakfast
One ‘art inspired’ cocktail per person on the first night of stay
The London Walks bespoke art tour which is subject to availability
The package starts at £299 inc VAT for a standard room (double occupancy)
The package is valid for stays from 10th July to 23rd August. However, the chance to meet Gregory Burns is only valid until 23rd July
Booking dates 10th July to 31st July.
