The first new-look aparthotel from global operator, Aparthotels Adagio, has now launched in Scotland.
Aparthotels Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile is a groundbreaking launch for the brand and the latest opening in the city’s £150m New Waverley development.
The 146 apartments feature a new, lighter and brighter aesthetic, as well as a new concept public space inspired by the striking architecture and natural splendour of the Edinburgh landscape.
“The opening of Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile is an important milestone in the global development of Adagio,” says Jose Gómez General Manager of Aparthotels Adagio. “The first new look aparthotel to open anywhere in the world, the Edinburgh launch demonstrates our continued commitment to bringing an exceptional product to our guests around the world.
“It is an exciting time for the brand and we are thrilled that the new concept will be seen in such an world-renowned city as Edinburgh for the very first time.”
The impressive four-storey Adagio Aparthotel has been painstaking constructed behind an existing façade of two 1930s tenement buildings overlooking the Royal Mile – one of which is C-listed Sailors Ark building, formerly an ex-serviceman’s hostel which helped feed the city’s homeless before and after the Second World War.
The property is located moments from Edinburgh Waverley train station on Edinburgh’s famous Royal Mile and overlooks New Waverley’s new football pitch-sized public square which opens in early December, becoming the first significant public space to open in the city-centre for more than 50 years.
The Edinburgh opening follows further international growth, with recent openings in Paris, Frankfurt and Moscow. Continued expansion is planned with openings expected in London, Brazil and Doha in 2017. Aparthotels Adagio now has 100 properties in more than 10 countries.
