This autumn, Atul Kochhar will open the doors to a second central London restaurant, Mathura, in Westminster.
Named after a capital city of King Kanishka, an emperor of the Kushan dynasty in the second century, the 200 cover restaurant and bar will be housed in the former Westminster Fire Station.
The 5000 square foot site in Westminster is both a conversion of an existing Grade II listed building and a new build, mixed-use residential project from design-led development managers Alchemi Group.
The Mathura team have appointed Rosendale Design, the interior designers behind the likes of The Game Bird, The Ninth and Cabotte, to oversee the project.
Mathura is a collaborative project with Tina English, a recognised innovator of London’s Indian dining scene with whom Kochhar successfully opened Kanishka earlier in 2019.
