Following on from sponsoring the awards ceremony for the Young Furniture Makers’ (YFM) exhibition in October, January Furniture Show will include a prominent entrance feature showing a selection of the winning designs.
The YFM Awards are organised by The Furniture Makers’ Company – a City of London Livery Company since 1963, which gained a Royal Charter in 2013. Over 100 designs of furniture and lighting were entered for the YFM Awards – covering both domestic and contract use.
The featured selection at January Furniture Show of around 10 designs will display the range of talent and inventiveness among young designers working today – some of whom are still studying and some who are recent graduates.
“It is clear from seeing the winning designs there is both genuine talent and an abundance of enthusiasm amongst young designers to create forward looking designs, and to use and re-use materials carefully,” comments Cleere Scamell, event director of January Furniture Show.
“We are privileged to have some of the winning designs at JFS in 2020 and I have no doubt that the YFM feature will attract considerable attention.”
January Furniture Show is the UK’s largest furniture and interiors trade show and runs from 19th- 22nd January 2020 at Birmingham’s NEC. Entrance is free and visitors can register now at www.januaryfurnitureshow.com
