The BCFA is pretty well known in hospitality circles, and perhaps that is not surprising as the networking and business events that it organises are a valuable resource and highly rated by not only its members, but by the many interior designers and procurers of hotel furnishings.
To meet and build networks of suppliers that belong to the industry, the trade association is becoming much more important, and there is a growing need to feel the security that emanates from a membership commitment based on providing the market with the highest levels of service.
The association has its ear to the ground at all times, and so is knowledgeable on the latest issues and trends within the industry. BCFA”MD, Colin Watson, believes that senses are going to be key: “Clearly design and innovation in hospitality settings is at the front of everyone’s mind. But the real focus needs to be on gauging the customers experience. Did you enjoy this £40 room even though it didn’t have a window? The competition to attract paying customers will grow and how we feel about the whole experience will determine the winners and losers.
“Comfortable bed, a good bathroom and free Wi Fi, just for starters, makes good sense I think.”
