After two hugely successful years, Best of Britannia is set to return for a third year to the iconic Farmiloe Builiding in Clerkenwell. From October 2nd-4th, over 200 brands will exhibit current and future collections of fashion, art, furniture, grooming and cosmetics, lighting, food and drink and much more to a flurry of buyers, media and consumers.
With an overall floor space of 40,000 square feet spanning over four floors and a beautiful, Victorian warehouse aesthetic, the Farmiloe Building is the perfect backdrop to showcase some of the UK’s most beautiful brands.
Additionally, Wayne Hemingway, the leading British design entrepreneur, has joined Best of Britannia as non-executive director, bringing his knowledge and expertise to the business.
“I decided to get on board with Best of Britannia because they are definitely on to something,” says Wayne. “The time is right for it, but we need a lot more British manufacturers and British brands to support it. I want to add my voice, making that happen and to be a part of an independent organisation that is committed to persuading the market to continue its move back home. Britain leads the world when it comes to design, if we can make more local manufacturing ingenuity available to designers then we can go from strength to strength.”
Brands from last year returning to BoB in 2014 include; Beulah Home, Chapman bags, Charnwood, Cheaney, Cherchbi, Do Book Company, Finisterre, Fletcher Boats, G Plan, Gillies Jones, Hetty Rose, Jeffery West, Moulton, NPS Solvair, Nyetimber, Penrose Products, Romney Marsh Wool, Silver Tree Crystal, Simon Frederick, Susannah Hall, Vickers, Walsh, White Dove & Wonder.
With an expected 4,500 visitors per day, further demand for BoB has been cited and a second event has been developed to take place in May 2015 in Manchester. Early popularity is predicted with brands such as Carradice, Cherchbi and Origin already signing up to exhibit.
Best of Britannia is also developing an ecommerce site with The Barn Agency which will be live in time for the London event in October 2014.
