The British Hospitality Association (BHA) has just launched its new sector programme for serviced apartments and has welcomed its first serviced sector member, Think Apartments. With a long-established track record of attracting members from sector groups spanning hotels, attractions, catering and restaurants, the BHA was keen to capitalise on the rising popularity of serviced and self-catering apartments in the UK, as well as representing the interests of sector leaders like Think Apartments.
“Hospitality and tourism in the UK comes in all different shapes, sizes and guises, and the BHA embraces a membership body which reflects this diversity,” says Ufi Ibrahim, CEO of the British Hospitality Association. “The launch of the BHA’s new sector programme for serviced apartments reflects this evolution in the hospitality and tourism industry. Apartment-living is a popular and growing trend in our sector and Think have clearly played a part in creating a desire for ‘local living’ in hospitality. We are delighted to have Think Apartments on board as BHA members and believe they will add another perspective and dimension to our work.”
Jim Souter, CEO of Think Apartments, adds: “We are delighted to be the first aparthotel company to be members of the BHA. The sector is at an exciting point in its development in the UK and we see it as the next revolution in hospitality – the last being budget hotels in the 1980’s. Think Apartments will be adding locations both in London and across the country as part of our growth strategy and we believe that the time is right for us to participate fully in the industry through our membership of the BHA.”
