Two up and coming British design brands are to collaborate on an exciting new retail venture at No 39 Amwell St, London.
Fabric and wallpaper designers, Blackpop, and hand-blown glass lighting designers, Curiousa & Curiousa, share a passion for interior and product design, and are part of a new wave of fresh and innovative businesses that are carrying the banner high for independent British design originating from the Midlands.
Curiousa & Curiousa’s lights use the centuries old technique of free blowing glass – art and science woven together to create luxuriant, glass pendants that add a soft hue of colour to any room.
Blackpop’s elegantly distressed wallpapers, fabrics and furniture punk up the rich tapestry of the past, to create opulent yet random anarchic patterns, on richly figured fabric and wallpaper, creating vivid designs for stately homes of the future.
Both will be launching a selection of luxury, contemporary, original designs in the heart of the capital, in this cultural little haven situated between creative Clerkenwell and highbrow Islington.
Amwell Street is well known by interior designers as the go to place for luxury fabrics, designer wallpapers and soft furnishings. With Timorous Beasties and Wallace Sewell already populating the village style street, No 39 will prove a popular addition to further fire the imaginations of interior designers.
Curiousa & Curiousa and Blackpop have celebrated an incredibly successful few years with both brands exclusively retailing their ranges at Liberty London, Esther and Maxine are excited to be opening their own dedicated showroom and becoming a part of the creative buzz of London and Amwell St. itself!
