Scheduled for completion in Winter 2017/18, the dual branded hotel will include a 212-room Crowne Plaza and a 116-room Staybridge Suites, located just off the bustling Manchester Oxford Road.

Andrew Fletcher joins as GM, Melanie Thompson as director of sales and marketing, Heather Tsopanou as revenue manager and Rebecca Unsworth as HR and training culture coach.

“At Cycas, we hire for personality and intuitive leadership skills,” says Ingrid van Veen, regional manager of Cycas Hospitality. “Andrew, Melanie, Heather and Rebecca all clearly demonstrate passion and flair for what they do.

“We are thrilled to welcome them to the Cycas family. With their innovative ideas and combined experience of over 40 years in the industry, I know they will successfully lead our new Manchester hotels.”

Andrew Fletcher joins from Marriott Gosforth Park in Newcastle. With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he drives business through commitment to his teams and his enthusiastic, can-do personality.

Joining from The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, Melanie Thompson has extensive experience in the local market and a proven track record of successfully driving sales, having spent 10 years in various IHG properties.

Heather Tsopanou is an experienced and accomplished hotel revenue manager who joins from Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express – Manchester City Centre. With almost a decade in the Manchester hotel market, Heather is bringing invaluable knowledge to the role.

Rebecca Unsworth joins from a Cluster HR Manager Role for Hilton Manchester Deansgate and Manchester Airport. Like her team members, Rebecca brings great local connections to her new role and has a passion for empowering others.

Cycas Hospitality is a hotel management company specialising in extended-stay hotels. It combines hands-on skills in hotel management with real estate investment expertise.
