The move provides significant opportunities for Domus; the scale and reach of Headlam’s operation and the synergetic relationship across the product groups from carpet, wood, laminate and vinyl, with the addition of tiles and other hard surfaces provides a significant opportunity to accelerate and extend Domus’ growth plans.
This combination provides a unique opportunity for Domus to operate independently whilst benefitting from Headlam’s overall strategic vision and expertise, financial strength, and enhanced reputation as a PLC.
“We are delighted to be part of a like-minded successful business, adding Domus’ expertise in the ceramic tiles product category and offering opportunities for Headlam to increase their involvement in the commercial flooring sector,” says Jon Newey, Domus CEO. “Domus is a market leader in these areas and we look forward to maximising our respective opportunities in these markets.
The synergy between the wood, laminate and other flooring categories makes this an excellent fit with our tile offering and the possibilities created by this acquisition provide us with significant opportunities to accelerate and extend our plans.”
Headlam, currently celebrating its 25th year and 62nd acquisition, is headquartered in Coleshill, Birmingham, and comprises 62 wholly-owned businesses located in the UK and Continental Europe, each operating under their own trade brand and utilising their own sales capability.
The businesses are supported by Headlam’s centralised and financial resources and an extensive distribution network that comprises four national distribution hubs and eighteen regional distribution centres, with over 2,300 employees.
