DoubleTree by Hilton has signed a deal for its first hotel in Chile. The new property – due to open mid-2014 – will mark the brand’s arrival in Santiago and become the second Hilton Worldwide hotel in the country. The announcement continues a trend of the brand entering prime locations in key business and tourism destinations, including recent deals in Dubai, Toronto and Barcelona.
Aqcuired through a franchise agreement with Hotelera Vitacura, the new-build, 18-story DoubleTree by Hilton Santiago-Vitacura will be located in the city’s main business district. The hotel will be managed by Hotelera Vitacura under the leadership of Rodrigo Parot, who has more than 25 years of hospitality experience.
DoubleTree by Hilton Santiago-Vitacura plans to offer 230 guest rooms, a restaurant, a cafe and a bar/lounge. The hotel will have nearly 12,000ft² of flexible meeting space, which will include offices for both day and longer-term use, boardrooms, and meeting rooms of various sizes. As with all DoubleTree by Hilton hotels, the property will allow guests complimentary access to 24-hour fitness and business centres.
John Greenleaf, global head at DoubleTree by Hilton, says: “DoubleTree by Hilton’s growth in South America continues, and I am thrilled we’ll have a presence in such a vibrant, world class destination as Santiago. We very much look forward to providing visitors a warm welcome to what will be an exceptional property in a thriving, central, business location.”
